OPAM - May - After Pics

Ok - so I was super-motivated this weekend and finished 2 projects...(1) The under-the-stairs storage which was my OPAM (One Project A Month) with the fabulous Tara and (2) The linen closet...

Here's the after pics of the storage area:

You can walk in it now! YAY!

Holiday decorations - Most of the Christmas ones are in the garage - so these are the rest of the holidays plus our Christmas lights for the tree and our wreath (which won't fit in the wreath box that it's sitting on top of).

Our wrapping paper and a file box for each year - holding bank statements, receipts, etc...I'm finally getting to shred some (past the 7 year mark for saving said statements & receipts)...But now I can see what year is in what box...What a concept!!!
This is in the way back of the closet - stuff we don't need to get to but want to save - like the dollhouse my grandparents (Dad's Mom & Dad) made me, John's baseball cards, an old VCR (as we still own some VHS tapes), etc.
Here's the before pics of the linen closet - As you can tell - I was just stuffing things in there - Sounds just like what I did with the storage area...

And as I'm refolding towels, blankets, etc. and determining what I still want to keep and what goes back in the linen closet or needs to find another home...I come across my baby blankets (the ones with the pink, blue, yellow and white) that were crocheted....and....I came across a blanket that was my grandmother's (my dad's mom) that must've been quilted for her sometime in November 1931...It has her name on it and everything - she was around 9 years old at this time...Holy cow!!! It's pretty sad that I didn't even know I had it or know that it was hers...it was with my baby blankets, so I always assumed it was mine...That's what I get for assuming...Anyway - so thankful I have this as she passed away almost 14 years ago...

Here's the after pics of the linen closet - all nice and orderly :)

Starting from the floor up - A foot massager, Christmas linens, my baby blankets, kitchen linens, and beach towels.
Then from ceiling on down - Pillows, lamps, etc. that I don't want to get rid of and plan on using some day....Then our bathroom towels, and then bed linens...
Thanks Tara!!

Now, to think of my next OPAM.... :)
I also had a chance to scrapbook this weekend as yesterday was National Scrapbook Day - made some cards (can't share them yet as some of you will be getting them for your birthdays) :) Also, made some Mother's Day cards...

Can't believe tomorrow's already Monday...Happy Sunday y'all! :)

OPAM - May

So, thanks to this wonderful person, I have decided to join in to the OPAM (One Project a Month). My OPAM for the month of May is to tackle our storage closet underneath the stairs. Lately, I've just been throwing things into this closet that I don't have a place for yet, I don't want to see on a counter/desktop while I'm cleaning, or it needs to be stored in here but I need to make a place for it...As you can see from the pics below, you can't even walk in the storage closet...It also goes back around so the pics below don't show everything...but they do show a good portion of the mess!!! So thanks Tara! You rock!!!!

Here are the before pics:

I'm hoping to tackle this project tomorrow (and Sunday - if need be)...but I do have the entire month of May to do it...I'll show the 'after' result when I finish...
Who knows - Maybe if I do this project this weekend, I'll be super-motivated and be able to accomplish something else in May :)

TTFN! :)
